Good question. This is something many people do not know. We would like to discuss what Lycopene is and why would we use it?
What is it?
Lycopene is a carotenoid hydrocarbon (carotene) found in tomatoes many of the red fruits and vegetables, i.e. grapefruit. Although lycopene is chemically a carotene, there is no active Vitamin A as such. Some evidence suggests that tomatoes or the red pigment in tomatoes, lycopene intake may modulate testosterone production, serum concentrations, and metabolism. It is suggested that should you wish to consume tomatoes in order to obtain the most out of this amazing compound within tomatoes, lycopene is more relatively bio-available when cooked using fresh tomatoes.
Lycopene has a few possible uses...what are they?
such as cancer more specifically prostrate cancer, preventing atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, prostate cancer, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, cataracts, asthma, antioxidant, and as an anti-inflammatory. It is an anti oxidant. When used in conjunction with other products, we believe can produce good results. Some studies have associated high lycopene blood concentrations with reduction of the incidence of cardiovascular disease. Since it may assist with hardened arteries which lead to cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and heart attacks. We also suggest for anyone with heart disease or heart issues to look into a good powdered magnesium source daily. MAGPLEX has been used by our clients for heart palpitations, leg cramps and it works wonders for people who have tried it and clearly have lack of magnesium in their bodies. MAGPLEX will be discussed in a separate blog.
Postmenopausal women it appears may also benefit from this amazing supplement. We these women were supplemented with lycopene appeared to have had significantly increased antioxidant capacity and decreased oxidative stress and the bone resorption marker. There were pilot prospective clinical studies conducted which may seem rather technical for some, however it relates to lycopene and the bone a well as post menopausal women. There are many good combinations to use certain supplements for maximum results in order to improve an ailment or possibly even heal from an ailment or disease, we will go about this as we blog along on a weekly basis. Below is an interesting link to Lycopene and male infertility as well as some case studies done using participants from Canada, United Kingdom, USA, Israel, India and Switzerland, see below

We believe Lycopene will become a supplement of interest, as people become more aware of its properties and possibilities related to its use. This may not be the answer to all of the mentioned problems, since the correct diet and lifestyle changes are imperative when looking at specific conditions. There is never an "easy fix" for healing but prevention would involve taking care in order to stay healthy and avoid particular toxic foods. There are conditions which could potentially be avoided by changes such as exercise and whole food nutrition.
